On Monday Mom was sure that I wasn’t well, so we managed to get an appointment with Nicoletta. Before our appointment we had a quick brunch at Fegos which was awesome as always. Nicoletta’s offices were packed! Enrico was also there and between the two of them they had their hands full! I spent the better part of half an hour entertaining all the other little patients and show them around. Needless to say my celebrity status is still fully intact and both Nicoletta and Enrico had long chats with me, Mom and Dad.

In Nicoletta’s rooms I immediately went into the examination room while Mom, Dad and Nicoletta chatted and caught up on things. In the examination room, all on my own, I climbed onto the examination bed and took my own blood pressure as well as checked my heart. It was a little more difficult examining my own ears and eyes, so I left something for Nicoletta to do. Just as well, as she discovered fluid in both my middle ears. This needed a course of antibiotics and was also the reason my speech is a little weird at the moment. We spent the afternoon at home.

Tuesday was an extremely exciting and important day: it was Christmas Eve! I could hardly wait until the evening when I could open my presents. But first, we had to get through the day. We had an early lunch at Papachinos where I made myself an odd shaped pizza. We did a few errands afterwards and then we all had a snooze, as it would be a late evening. In the afternoon Shelli, Joseph, Naomi and Noa popped by for a visit and to wish us a merry Christmas. It was great afternoon and we had a really awesome play.

For Christmas Eve dinner we decided to go to Le Petit Sel at the Falstaff Hotel, across the road! Well, despite being across the road, we still succeeded in running late – a special talent we share. Upon arriving at the Falstaff Hotel we were told it was closed! Little did we know that we actually made reservations at Sel Et Poivre at the Quatermain Hotel, the sister hotel to the Falstaff! Fortunately it’s just a road away too. We were given a nice corner table and we were treated like kings. After ordering Dad and I decided to walk through the hotel grounds and look at the birdlife and the pond. It was during this walkabout that Daddy showed me our very own Christmas lights in our very own garden! I was completely thrilled and overwhelmed by this. It was just awesome. After I got over the excitement, Daddy explained to me that our house’s perimeter wall is shared with the Quartermain Hotel, and that it’s the hotel that we see from our balcony. I felt awesome about this!

Back at the dinner table I couldn’t wait to tell Mom and Granny about my discovery! They too were thrilled. Of course I also mentioned the beautiful gardens, pond and birdlife, much of which is shared with us in our garden. Before dinner arrived I was treated to the most awesome experience – to visit the kitchen! The Maitre d’Hotel took me on a tour of the kitchen and I met all the staff there. I announced to everyone I was going to be a Master Chef. And an expert climber. As an additional treat, Chef Coco Reinarhz arrived at our table and chatted to us! I spoke a little bit of French with him that I remembered from Paris. I also told him I was going to be a Master Chef! For my main meal I was served one of my favourite dishes – smoked salmon. I was divine, and we all enjoyed our meals.

Since it was dark outside now, Mom and Dad announced that they believed Santa would’ve been to our house and it was time to go home. After Dad settled the bill, which I filled in and signed, it was back home. I was extremely excited! Racing up to our front door I discovered there was snow scattered about, and in it were reindeer hoof prints! I was thrilled to the max. As Mom and Dad opened the front door I spotted the Christmas tree base covered in presents for me. I was beside myself! I spent the next few hours opening presents and playing. Finally, about an hour after midnight, I decided it was time to go to bed. But not before I ran up to the window and pointed in delight at the lights flashing in our garden that we saw from the hotel earlier in the evening!

Christmas Day I got the family up early to continue playing with all my new toys. I got completely spoiled and I played and played. Because of the late night before, we all had a snooze in the middle of the day. In the afternoon I drove around the car park in my new Hot Wheels Quad. Pretty soon Naomi joined me and the two of us drove around. After a while I decided to show Naomi all my new toys and we were all back at our place chatting and playing!

For Christmas dinner Mommy treated us to a wonderful home cooked meal fit for a king. It was really awesome. The table was beautiful and we had a stunning evening together. Just before starting dinner Dad announced a toast. He pointed to me to take my champagne glass. My response? “But I don’t drink!” Guffaws of laughter around the table. Eventually through the tears of laughter Mom told me my champagne glass had apple juice in it! That was better! We all clinked glasses and tucked in.

On Boxing Day we decided to head out to the bike park where I had a long play and ride around on my bike. It was really really awesome and we had a wonderful time.

On Friday we headed out east to the Bedford Centre to swap out my Mouse Trap toy (one part was missing). Incidentally, when I opened my Mouse Trap toy on Christmas Eve I announced “Now I don’t need to go to Lauren anymore!” as it was there that I played the Mouse Trap. Mom and Granny decided to do some shopping so Dad and I walked around a little and then had frozen yoghurts. We then discovered Galaxy World where I played on the machines and we rode a bumper car. A quick Wimpy meal and we were all ready to go home after a long day.

Saturday we spent most of the day at home and chilling around the garden. Dad went for a swim and tried to convince me to swim, but I wasn’t interested.

We woke up to soft soaking non-stop rain on Sunday. Because of the slippery roads Granny asked Mommy to take her to church. Dad and I opted to go to Yeesh in Woodmead. It was packed to the rafters. A short while later Shelli, Joseph, Naomi and Noa joined us and we played up a storm. Mom and Granny also joined us there and we all visited and played into the afternoon. Eventually the girls and I were getting quite tired and we headed home. At home we relaxed and did very little. Feeling extremely lazy we figured pizza was the perfect way to end a great Christmas week!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh, and before I forget to mention it. Again. My first tooth that I got on 15 December 2008 is now loose, perfectly on schedule. I meant to blog about it two weeks ago already, but I felt a little embarrassed at having my teeth start falling out. Eventually Mom and Dad convinced me that it was perfectly normal. For my first set of teeth. Thereafter I was entitled to feel embarrassed, in about forty years’ time!

Love,

Jarrod
