Hello everyone,

From tonight’s blog title you can tell that my Mommy, my Daddy and I are somewhat frazzled and frayed. The reason is owing to the difficult decision that has been looming over our heads for the past few days. Well, I bet you’ll all be relieved to hear that the three of us, after deep and intense deliberation, have made a decision.

Before I reveal our decision to you, I must thank you all for the wonderful messages, emails, and SMS’s of encouragement, strength and good wishes that you sent to my Mommy and Daddy over the past few days as we deliberated over this decision. The phone calls were a fantastic sounding board too, and Aunty Shazza even called Mommy from Australia.

Ok, so the decision is that I’ll be undergoing surgery on Tuesday to have the offending catheter removed that runs from my groin to my head. It will be terminated at the jugular (as it needs to remain in my head to create an appropriate occlusion in the Vein of Galen), and then extracted either via the inferior vena cava at the groin, or my jugular, or both.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me on Tuesday.

Love,

Jarrod

Be Strong little Jarrod. We will be thinking and praying for you on Tuesday.

It’s going to be a good day because it is Ryan and Kirsten’s Nana and Grandpa’s 64th wedding anniversary on that day so it has got to be a good luck charm of some sort 🙂

We will eagerly be waiting for a word from Dad that everything went well.

    Love always
    Gillian, Oliver, Ryan and Kirsten
