Hi all,

Summer is truly here with everyday this week being a shorts and t-shirt week. Mom and I took advantage of the good weather on Monday and visited the Brightwater Commons for a bit of a run-around. Granny also came with to share in the fun. At the Brightwater Commons we popped into a few stores to look around; it was then that I spotted a ‘Ben 10’ duvet and pillow set wrapped in a large square bale. I decided I needed it and pushed it out the door. Everyone had a good chuckle and my cute smile kept me from being arrested!

Later in the day Aunty Shazza arrived and we sat on the front lawn enjoying the heat of the day sipping juice. Mom put one of my splash pools out for me and I got busy cooling off. While we were lounging around outside, Uncle Marc called to chat to Aunty Shazza, and to me. It was my second long distance call – Jo’burg to Melbourne, the first being on my birthday. In the evening Mom, Dad and I decided that it was too late to start cooking so we popped into Thunder Gun for take-aways. The place was so welcoming and the staff so friendly, that we stayed to have dinner there. Dad ordered a massive rack of ribs of which I savoured some too. Yum.

On Tuesday morning Mom and I did some shopping at WorldWear. While walking through the car park I spotted a Toyota and I went ‘woof woof’ just like the dog does on the TV commercial for Toyotas. I immediately got showered in hugs for being so cute. In the car going back home I fell asleep, and when I awoke the car was spotlessly clean – it seemed Mom had taken us through a car wash during my snooze. Back home Mommy prepped to run her BabyGym class. Granny and Tammy arrived to keep me busy during class, and even Aunty Shazza arrived to take part in the class. As she is expecting a baby in a couple of months, she was keen to pick up some tips and tricks.

Wednesday was Daddy’s birthday, and he opted to take leave for the day. Mom and I woke him up with candles in cupcakes and then we all sat in bed together watching Dad open his gifts. He was thrilled with the goodies that Mom and I had got him. Later in the morning Dad joined us at Be Sharp Beetles for music, and because his camera is still in for repairs he opted to video tape the proceedings. Afterward we headed off to Brightwater Commons for a late breakfast. I had a marathon snooze, and when I woke up in the afternoon, Mom and Dad were preparing for guests that evening.

Just before dark Bev & Claire, Robin & Di, and Mark & Lisle arrived. I had their full attention swinging and playing. The adults took turns in pushing my swing so I was entertained non-stop. I would also bump into Mark while I was swinging causing me to giggle hysterically! This ‘game’ could have carried on forever I was having such a good time. Mom laid on an awesome spread, and Dad with Robin and Bev’s help braai’ed the meat.

Sadly on Thursday I was running a temperature so Mom and I opted to stay home for most of the day. In the early afternoon Mom had a BabyGym catch-up class, which I participated in. Late in the afternoon I was helping Mom with the irrigation system, as the heat was taking its toll on our garden. While she was connecting the hose to the irrigation in front of the wall, I slammed the pedestrian door shut. So there were Mom and I barefoot and without keys on the road! Fortunately Mom had her cellphone with her so we dispatched a distress call to Dad – “Homeless, keyless, shoeless and in the Park”. In the meantime, we went to play in the park, so it actually proved lots of fun.

Friday was a hectic day. It started with Mom having to see Dr Sonja as her neck is still playing up. Afterward we visited Granny and spent the rest of the morning there. Back home in the afternoon Aunty Shazza visited and she brought with her friend Claire and little Gabriella who is ten months old. I played with little Gabriella who is an absolute delight. Dad also arrived home so we all visited together over tea.

On Saturday morning the house was a-flurry with activity as Mom prepped for BabyGym. It was also graduation day for the babies as they’d finished their course. Jaco arrived with Nina and Kate, so during the class Jaco, Dad and I went to Polka-Dot in Parkhurst for some things. I opted to entertain Jaco and Dad in the car by blowing on my recorder there and back. Dad kept saying that mice will start following us soon!

We arrived back home as class was ending and the graduation started. I ‘helped’ with the graduation and afterward we all had tea and cake together. The Mommies and Babies, as well as my Mommy, seemed a little sad that the course was already finished. After a team snooze we headed to Nathan’s place for his second birthday party. It was a nice party and all us littlies had lots of cake and goodies. During the party Mom and Sharon chatted for the last time during her visit to South Africa, as she was flying back to Melbourne that evening.

Saturday evening we all climbed into bed together and Mom and Dad started watching Lost, from season one. Bev and Claire had got the entire season one for Dad for his birthday, and ever since Wednesday he’d been itching to start watching. At midnight the two of them were still up watching!

Opa arrived for breakfast on Sunday morning, which coincided with me reaching 27 months. We sat on the back patio and I regularly took Opa for long walks around the garden, showing him the fountains and trees and plants. It was a lovely morning, but all too soon Opa had to leave again. Mom and I settled down for a snooze and then we spent the rest of the day at home; Mom got creative with some scrap-booking, I drew and Dad edited my videos from Be Sharp Beetles. While mommy was doing the washing for the week, she opted to do the pool backwash too and we all opted for an early evening swim. It was such fun, even the cats got some cat mint from the garden.

Well, that’s it for another super fun week.

Lots of love,

Jarrod
