Monday after school Mom and I met up with Lisle at Papachinos in Fourways. It was so awesome to see her, although little Luke didn’t join us, so I left Luke’s birthday present with Lisle and gave her strict instructions not to play with it but give it straight to Luke! I then sauntered off and made myself a pizza.

Tuesday also had some major excitement in stall for me. After a great day at school and speech therapy with Vicky, Mom whisked me off to Sandton City where Phineas and Ferb were doing a show. It was so cool to meet them, and I even got an official photo with them. Perry, unfortunately, wasn’t as cooperative, but I guess that’s the life a secret agent spy leads.

The week just kept getting better and better. On Wednesday after school we met up with Claudi and little Ryan at the Coca-Cola Dome to see Disney on Ice. It was absolutely amazing! We saw Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen, as well as Buzz Lightyear and Sheriff Woody. After intermission The Little Mermaid, Tinkerbell and Mickey and Minnie and many others floated gracefully over the ice. As a keepsake we got some genuine Disney on Ice toys, as well as programmes. Sadly I lost my programme, but the show is forever imprinted in my mind.

After class on Thursday Mom sat through SEMAS maths with me. I did really well and recognised all the numbers. I’m really enjoying it. In the afternoon someone came to look at our house, as Mom and Dad have decided to sell and move closer to Sandton. We’re hoping to get the price we want so that we can put this plan in motion.

It was bike Friday again on Friday, but 10 minutes into the drive to school I realised we’d forgotten my bike at home, so we raced home to collect it. After bike Friday Mom took me to Lauren for OT – it was a very hard work out; I had to do a puzzle while swinging in the hammock. And I did it! In the afternoon Mommy had a Doctor’s appointment so Dad took me to the Haahoo (Delta) Park where we played for two hours, until it was too cold and dark to stay there.

In the evening I had a raging fever of 39?C. Mom was very stressed about me, and medicines were given and I also did a great deal of throwing up. I stayed home for the day on Saturday. Granny arrived, and we all got the business of baking my pirate cake for my third and last Happy Birthday Party for this year. It was a stunning cake, and I was very proud of Mommy. We also made pirate biscuits and cupcakes. It was all stunning. When we weren’t baking we were having egg and spoon races in the garden.

On Sunday Daddy woke up with a bit of a cold too, and he became a really baby – worse than me, and I’m not even a baby anymore! In the morning we popped into Fournos for food for my guests later in the day, and afterward I played up a storm at McDonalds. Dad and I both passed out back home, and when we woke up it was time to go to my Pirate Party at OrangoTango’s. I’d been asking Mommy to have a pirate party in the Pirate Cove at OrangoTango’s for ages – my wish came true!

The cove looked stunning! Soon all my little friends and their parents arrived. Ryan, Morgan and I played pirate games. Gené and Emma played up a storm on the jungle gym. When Chloe and Amy arrived I was bursting with joy and dished out big hugs! Kayla and Kyle chilled out and watched the going ons. Soon Kate and little Liya were also playing with everyone. It was a stunning afternoon.

We played on the jungle gyms, played pirates, played soccer and even took a few spins in the bumper cars. After three hours of solid play it was time to go home. I hugged everyone and thanked them for all the stunning gifts. I felt very spoilt.

Well, that’s it for this week. Something newsworthy is that the planet’s timekeepers had to add a ‘leap second’ to the world’s atomic clock on Saturday night. I understand this is necessary to keep stuff synchronised, such as preventing midnight occurring at midday in a couple of centuries, but I should have been consulted! I now have to wait a whole extra second for my Happy Birthday next year!

Love,

Jarrod
