Days have really taken a turn here in my household since Mom’s been working again.

I know she secretly loves it, but having the flu has just put her in an awful place as far as her temperament goes. The usually mellow and quite off centre mother that runs through shops chasing me and understands all the sounds little boys make becomes a tyrant. This being said, Mom managed fairly well till Dad came home (he also has the flu still) and got sent out for takeaways and just before leaving Mom announced she couldn’t believe she had to go to work tonight. Not wanting to be left out of either the flu or the conversation, I hopped onto the coffee table and announced with somewhat of a flourish, “I can’t believe I went to school today!!!”

Well needless to say that brought the house down and Mom was very shortly pretending to speak on walky-talky to me from a different room. Dad had a good giggle because she actually holds it up to her ear and mouth to talk, saying over at the perfectly precise places, even though Mom and I can actually hear each other without the little devices. I overheard Mom say it was very important to get the details right for me, otherwise I would complain. During the day at speech therapy, I also announced to Vicky, when she asked to me perfect my sounds, that I couldn’t help it. I announced “My tongue keeps escaping!”

Since acknowledging this though it’s as though a cognitive penny has dropped and Mom was ever so proud when she heard me chugging like a train without my tongue sticking out.

I finally managed to get the folks in a concerted effort to download a new app for my iPad. It’s the Disney Monsters Inc. app. Well the folks are still learning that my screams are just me practicing the whole scare routine with Mike and Sculley. Their nerves are a little shot it would seem. Mom really avoided letting me watch the movie because she thought I would never sleep again. She was wrong. I loved it.

Speaking of movies, went to movies during the week after school to see Rekkit Ralph, but I didn’t like it and fortunately one look at my face and my Mom was cool to let me dump the movie and go home. After my bath, Mom asked me to get into my PJ’s. I can confirm with certainty that I did just that. However two t-shirts, one acting as a cape and a pair of underpants on my head was what I ran in with going “Ta da!”

Giggles ensued.

We collected boxes to start packing up 17 years of house. I think Dad’s going to have a problem, but Mom is not a hoarder so her stuff fits into a box. Me on the other hand? Oh well hoarders anonymous here I come.

Mom bought me a chefs’ hat in order to go along with my obsession of being a chef. I also found some “experimenting stuff” that was being held in trust by Dad. Needless to say Dad was commandeered and after I cooked with Mom, there was a brief dereliction of kitchen duty in order to go in search of the scientist in me. All Mom heard from the far side of the house was, “Mamma Mia – it is cold like a gellati!”

I had a rave at B-Sharp beetles on Wednesday and got lots of stamps on my arms and tummy.

On the way to school on Thursday Mom decided I was too sick and took me to the office. It was fine while ‘we’ were working, but tonnes of people arrived and it just went downhill. Mom, Gran and I grabbed up all our files and computers and headed back to our house where Mom set me up in my tent with my DVD, TV and iPad and Mom and Gran got down to business. Mom took me to the doctor later in the day but not before packing Granny off with a wall painting and a printer and a box of alcohol to her house. Packing house also means giving away a lot of stuff. I also asked her if I could have my birthday at her house. Aunty Kim and Gran said yes. I am so excited. “Can we have my birthday now?” was my immediate question. Ah well so long to wait it was worth the chance of asking.

Mom has already made enquiries about trains to drive round the tennis court. Gotta love her… Also There is one thing I want… guess what? TRAINS. I have started shopping at Amazon in the hopes of still being able to find one. I am on a strict budget as Mom and Dad think I am ‘only mildly’ indulged. I am sure Mom’s being sarcastic, but one never knows… I best be playing my cards right. I am allowed two gifts from my parents and whatever my family buy me, but I may not ask for anything over a certain amount. My word the world of finance is exhausting especially if there is Forex involved. Eish!

Friday morning, Mom insisted, no iPad. I had to make play make believe, I dressed up as Woody and went on a jaunt around the house with Bullsey (my loved rocking horse), my hat on and I made a hideout. Mommy had to be Buzz Lightyear, she ran around with fairy wings (such a girl) on and shouting “To infinity and beyond.” We were totally in our element, but poor Zionne our housekeeper, although she’s happy to get involved, really has her hands full when we are home. The cats took over the tent and have made it a cat run. They flew from side to side, inside and outside. In-between all this Mom tried desperately to work.

I announced out of the blue today that I would only swim again if Kate and Gene were with me. I am so not taking any chances as they saved me, not the adults.

I presently ended up playing my Toy Story game on the PSP for a little eye to hand coordination. It was the most I sat still the whole day.

Things in the news today are I am starting Neurotherapy and we are venturing to Paris to meet with Dr Roedesch.

Our philanthropic activities at the moment are donating everything we haven’t used in the last 6 months to various charities, within this week, we have managed to find a school who has no puzzles or developmental toys so my old ones are going to them. Mom says it’s sometimes a much better feeling in your heart when you give than when you receive. She also explained to me that it’s very important to help the generations who are suffering under poverty.

Saturday and Sunday my viral thing reached a peak and we stayed home for the full two days. 40 degree temps and lots of meds and sleeplessness came from the two days. Mom moved the emergency pack to the car (moving from defcon yellow to amber) which contains my and Mom and Dad’s overnight hospital bags. Fortunately it never came to that, but it was close. A conference call with Nicoletta put our minds as ease. Let it be said if there is one more incident, we’ll be on our way to the hospital.

Well that’s it for this week.
