What a week. You’ll forgive me if I have very little to say about the whole week. It’s been overwhelming and a little confusing for little old me.

Monday I noticed things changing around Collier cottage and by Monday night I knew our move was imminent. Mom and I rushed off to get the keys from the previous owner but to our dismay things were very confusing, so we kept our distance and waited for Dad.
Mom had invited us to a floor picnic for dinner in our new house/apartment.

It was delightful, although first we had to seriously help get all the things out the house that had been forgotten. Also we couldn’t get access to our storeroom that night as that hadn’t been emptied, so we would collect the keys from the guard the next day.

We brought a lot of my toys and clothes with to the new house and mom said the rest would follow tomorrow.

We headed back to Collier cottage with a little sadness in our hearts as we had such a good time there. The Colliers arrived with some Champers and were so positive it was hard for it not to be catchy.

We went to bed looking forward to our Tuesday move.

Our move went like clockwork. Our trucks (yes, we were promoted from 1 to 2 trucks – mom believes the Tupperware had babies)arrived promptly at 9:30. Following our prompt 9:00 Coricraft delivery. The movers were awesome and were very quick to make everything go smoothly. Daddy’s pedometer measured 23000 steps in one day.

Gran came to help after work and cleaned up a storm in our kitchen which was great cause it was a little not to standard.

I asked where my Thomas room was and new bed and Mom and Dad had to break it to me that it would be delivered in two days. Well no way was I going to sleep in a non-Thomas room. Into my folks room it would be.

I’ve been trying really hard at school over the last while and have getting financial rewards for my efforts. Everyday I complete my tasks for the day, I get a portion of my pocket money and it is really motivating me to keep at my school work and home tasks.

This week made an amazing breakthrough, after years of speech therapy and me doing a lot of ‘stopping’, I have managed to master the sounds of ‘th’ and ‘f’. Mom keeps making me say FUN and then hugs and kisses me. Its getting a little too much.

Thursday arrived and I couldn’t contain myself after school. No Semas. I did the little dance of happiness and then sprouted forth the song Bibidity, bobity boo. “It’ll do magic believe it or not…. Bibidity, bobity, boo. Mom just smiled and walked away before she said too much.

I got home and true to their word my folks had a huge double bunk with stairs and a huge train table just for me. I was beside myself. Ryan came to visit to see my new acquisitions. He was just as excited. We had lots of fun tearing around the house and jumping on the beds. There was a point however the mothers had to reign us in as we were ready to jump from the top bunk and even worse, jump down from the balcony.

Awesomeness was when Shannie and Blackie came to visit, I was so naughty, and I got squishes from Shannie and tried to get Blackie to become involved in some scheme to hide in boxes (with a torch – no slumming it here). We had some coffee and Shannie went off to study for an exam, not before there were tons of laughs and giggles.

Another HUGE step forward for me was that I slept in my own bed on Thursday, I did it again Friday, Saturday and tonight I plan to do the same. My folks are really super proud of me.

Saturday we went with Mom to look after a show called Wool Week. It’s a week were wool is on show and its patron is Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales. I was given a beanie and book as well as allowed to touch a large ram and feel the wool at different stages of its washing. Mom did some knitting for the charity (yup I didn’t know she could either). We left at about 2 and all passed out from the last few days.

It’s Sunday now and I’ll be honest, we are still surrounded by boxes, we haven’t found our cutlery and have only 3 of everything. Although shrieks of delight go through the house when mom finds a hat or pair of gloves she thought she would never see again. Sadly our little family is one person short tonight as Dad is in Maputo on business. We dropped him at the Gautrain at 2pm. Granny has arrived to stay just to help out and she was a demon unpacker.

Well, for this week let me say this.

We’re home and we love it.
