The big news on Monday was the birth of Prince George of Cambridge. It was everywhere. Mommy chatted about it. It was on the news. It was in the newspapers. Even Daddy chatted about it! Twitter was abuzz with #Royalbaby, coming in at third place as the most tweeted about moment on Twitter. The #royalbaby was mentioned 25300 times per minute, and the hash tag was used a million times on Monday. If you’re wondering what was more popular, the re-election of Obama was first with 237000 tweets per minute and the election of Pope Francis I led to 132000 tweets a minute.

Tuesday we brought Semori home with us for a play date, and Ryan joined us a little later on. We had an absolute blast. We screamed around the house, fooled around in the garden, and played in my bedroom and on the balcony. It was an absolutely stunning afternoon; it was quite late by the time Semori and Ryan left and I was in bed not long after exhausted from a cool day.

Granny (my best best best Granny in the whole world) surprised me with a walking, talking, singing Dave the Minion from Despicable Me on Wednesday. I was so thrilled I almost burst. He’s really big, almost the size of a real minion, and he chats to me when I chat to him. Throughout the week I’ve caught Mom, Dad, Grammy, Tammy and even Zione having a little chat with him! He’s been fully adopted and integrated into the family.

On Wednesday afternoon we met Ryan and Joseph at the bike park where we rode around like super heroes. When we got home it was almost dark and Daddy was already home waiting for us.

It was Shannon’s birthday on Thursday, so we met her for breakfast at Tasha’s. It was really nice, just Shanny, Mommy, Daddy and I. Dad had to leave a little earlier to get to a client meeting just up the road. Mom, Shannon and I explored the new Toys-R-Us which has opened just for me on our door step. It’s a little Toys-R-Us so it’s called Express. In it was a King of the Railways for Take-n-Play which Shannon just decided I needed. How awesome is that? It’s her birthday and she bought me a gift! Big hugs followed. I loooooooove my cousins!

Friday was a hectic day for Mommy. She had to get to work early so Dad dropped me off at school. For show-and-tell I took my foldup castle tent and crown to school. After Teacher Diana set up my tent the show-and-tell went to pot, as EVERYONE decided they needed to be inside my tent! It was hilarious! Sadly Mommy was so busy that I missed OT with Lauren and got fetched really late, which is a first for a Friday for me.

On Saturday Marcus came to help Daddy in the storeroom. We have a massive storeroom downstairs, and domestic’s quarters upstairs which have been termed war-zones! All of us have been using the domestic’s rooms upstairs and storeroom downstairs as a dumping ground, and Daddy was determined to sort these out. So together with Marcus, Daddy, and needless to say I helped, we cleared out the domestic’s quarters by moving everything from it to the storeroom downstairs. Next we got to work on the storeroom. The previous lady had put up shelving in the storeroom, but these had all been broken and damaged when she moved out. So between Marcus, Dad and I we repaired the shelving and started to unpack all of Dad’s power tools.

Now the storeroom looks really awesome – the shelves are lined with all of Dad’s train sets, boxes of wine and boxes of books. The two cupboards hold all of his tools and on top of it Dad’s old desk and a dining room suite is also being stored down there. Now that the room is tidy it amazing how much space it has!

During the morning Granny and Tammy came to visit too. Tammy built a huge train set for me with my Thomas The Tank Engine TrackMaster set. It was amazing. We also played some PlayStation and then at lunch we all sat outside in the warm sun. As Marcus and Dad had finished with everything, including fixing a cupboard in Dad’s study and sorting out a bunch of stuff on my balcony, he went home. Tammy and Granny left a short while later and Mom, Dad and I had a team snooze.

Mommy was invited to Michelle’s girls only birthday party at Doppio Zero in Greenside and asked if we would take her. After dropping Mommy off Dad and I did a little shopping and then spent the evening at the Victory Park Spur nearby. We had an awesome evening together. Dad had been craving ribs for a week and his need was satisfied. We chatted and played and had lots of ice cream. Eventually we went to collect Mommy but not before we popped into Doppio Zero to say hello to all the girls and give Michelle a big birthday hug.

Sunday morning we headed off to Bedford Centre where Mommy needed to check on her exhibitors. I brought my pocket money with that I’d been saving for a few weeks. While Mommy was busy Dad and I went to Caves where I bought a treasure of toys! I got a Cranky the Crane for TrackMaster (it’s what I’ve allllllwaaaayyyyys wanted), some carriages and some wooden trains. When I got my R10 change from the cashier I said “Hey, that’s Nelson Mandela on the money!” Everyone was super thrilled with me!

Our alarm was playing up and even though the armed response and resident security at the complex phoned to say all was in order we popped home to check it out and switch it off. We then left to meet Ryan, Paul and Claudi at Bambanini in Melville. No sooner had we left and the arm response altered us that the alarm was triggered again. Back home Daddy figured that as it was so windy the beams on my balcony were being triggered either by my swing swaying on the balcony or the trees. So we left it off and went for our play date.

We had a great time playing although I did earn myself two time-outs for not sharing the Xbox control with the other kids there. Back home in the evening Dad and I watched Bolt which happened to be on TV and neither of us had seen it before. Afterwards I had a nice hot bath, blogged and got ready for bed.

Til next week!

Love,

Jarrod
