Monday started as a quiet day – it was wedged snuggly between a weekend and the public holiday on Tuesday. Unfortunately for Mommy some arrangements with her exhibitors went awry and she ended up having to go to work, despite technically being on leave. Daddy worked at home, and in the afternoon, when he had a meeting, it was arranged at Papachino’s so that he and his colleague could chat while I played and made myself pizza. In the afternoon Daddy was supposed to be on a training programme from the UK, but a combination of poorly communicated times, because of time zones, and incorrect AV links caused him to miss it. In the evening, when Daddy bathed me, he introduced me to some of history’s best guitar riffs. While I sat in the bath he bought popular riffs from iTunes like AC/DC, Deep Purple, Cream, etc! It was really cool.

Tuesday, being Heritage Day, Mom, Dad and I decided it was a perfect day to go see the Smurfs 2 in 3D. Granny joined us for the show. We all really loved it, and I’ve tasked Daddy with finding the soundtrack from the movie as there were some really nice songs in the movie. Directly afterward we headed off to Paul, Claudi and Ryan’s place for a braai, as Heritage Day is fast becoming known as Braai Day. It was an awesome braai and we had a wonderful afternoon.

Daddy took me to school on Wednesday morning. After school I had Be Sharp Beetles which as always I really enjoy. In the afternoon I needed to go to the toy store and then for some lunch. We told Daddy and he met us at Morningside Shopping Centre. I got a really cool Turbo zip line which I love. In the afternoon Daddy and I built it and played with it for the rest of the day. Daddy had a team dinner in the evening so we bid him a safe evening. Mom and I chilled at home, she took care of my cares and off to bed I went.

On Thursday morning Mom, Dad and I went to see a new school for me, called Junior College. I really liked it, and they are happy to take me right away. So Mom, Dad and I need to do some deciding and thinking about this. Friday I had OT with Lauren (but not before we dropped off Daddy’s lunch at his work, as he’d forgotten it at home). Daddy didn’t recognise me in the car, as I was wearing a Turbo mask. I giggled like mad when I took it off and said, “Daddy, it’s me, Jarrod!”

Granny stayed over with us for the weekend starting on Friday night. I slept with Granny in her room, which was really fun.

Saturday morning Granny and Mommy headed off in different directions to do what they’d planned. Dad and I decided we’d go to Color Café in Dunkeld and paint a little. Unfortunately they were closed for a private function. Instead we then popped into Hyde Park where Daddy and I looked at the shops and had lunch at JB Rivers. In the afternoon Daddy went to poker and Mommy, Granny and I played up a storm. The sad news of Saturday afternoon was that Ryan’s birthday party for the next day was cancelled as he was very sick. I was very sad for him, that his party was cancelled, on his birthday, but I also know that being sick and trying to party don’t go well together.

Sunday morning Granny treated Mom and Dad, and me by default, to breakfast in lieu of their 18th wedding anniversary which is tomorrow. It was a really nice breakfast. Toy shopping at Toy Zone in Benmore was also a mandatory activity. On the way home we swung by Ryan’s place to drop off his birthday present, but they didn’t hear us at the gate so Daddy put the gifts through their gate. The afternoon was spent lounging around the house playing. Once again it threatened to rain, but once again, like just about every day this week, there wasn’t any rain.

Til next week!

Love,

Jarrod
