Missy’s kittens are getting really big and fat. The one is a real moaner so Dad has named them 3 Fattis and 1 Monis, just like the pasta! We all love the name, and slowly we’re getting pretty attached to the kittens, so we can see it’ll be quite hard to give them up for adoption when the time comes. Monday morning was pretty chaotic, as Mom’s car won’t start. We’d realised it hadn’t been used in quite a few days, so I guess it decided to take a break. But pretty soon Mom hooked the booster pack to the special terminals under the hood and fired up the beast. In the evening Mom had a late meeting so Dad and I made dinner for the two of us and Granny.

Sometime on Tuesday I spilt some purple ice-lolly on my bedspread. When Mom came in and spotted it, she asked me what had happened. My immediate answer “Barney had a wee on my bed!” Mom left the room giggling. In the afternoon Dad and I chilled and chatted in the garden. Mom had another late afternoon meeting so Dad, Granny and I made some dinner. I was put in charge of tossing the salad, and it was slow going, so Dad said “Come on Jarrod, put your elbow in it!” And what did I do? Put my elbow in the salad. Dad left the kitchen giggling. I didn’t understand.

Wednesday morning Dad drove me to school and en route he got a call from a colleague in Mauritius needing some insight how to explain an operating model for banking to a client. So Dad (and I) explained it in detail. Each time Daddy mentioned certain key words (like money, model, start, design) I added my own interpretation. It was really fun and I felt I can also build a bank now! Later in the day at school Santa arrived to hand out presents.

Thursday was Dad’s turn to be hectic. He was gone early in the morning for a top-secret-hush-hush meeting with a client. Dad was very excited with the prospect. In the evening he was home a few minutes, waited out the rain storm and then headed off to Randburg to our flat to do some repairs. Speaking of rain storms, it was one of the worst we’ve had in a while – some suburbs had golf ball and even tennis ball sized hail. The hail was extraordinary in some areas.

Friday Daddy was hectic again and left early. I also had an early start, this time with Lauren for early morning OT. It was interesting going so early. The rest of the day was pretty quiet and for a Friday Daddy got home really late.

There was a quite a vibe around the house on Saturday morning, as Mom pulled out her best domestic goddess skills and put me and Dad to work on catering. It was Daddy’s turn to host the guys for poker and Mommy had a reputation to uphold. At around midday Daddy’s friends arrived and I played a few rounds of poker with them. I must admit, that there was more eating and drinking done than poker playing, and it looked like everyone had huge amounts of fun. Mom downloaded the Lego movie for me off iTunes and I spent the afternoon watching Clutch Powers. It was such fun. I fell asleep before Dad’s friends left. Dad then fall asleep next to me in my bed ‘to keep an eye on me’.

Sunday was pretty chilled. The weather was really amazing so I spent some time in the garden. We had a team snooze in the afternoon, and then Mom and I baked and made dinner. We started a fire in the kitchen, but Mom was really quick to deal with it. Dad and I spent some time at the complex Christmas party and meeting the neighbours. In the evening I showered and headed off to bed.

Til next week!

Love,

Jay-Bee
